ARTIST STATEMENT.
I am a photographer based in Dorset and enjoy taking photographs of people and landscape. I try to capture human emotion and human spirit. I often travel to the Himalayas to photograph the people and mountains of Nepal and Tibet.
I love the Himalayas because of the dramatic colours and vibrancy. In particular I try to capture the spirit of the people, their peace and tranquility. I seek to capture the colour and power of the Himalayas, the uniqueness of each mountain, their awe and immense presence in the world in which we live.
I am very attracted to both Colour and Black and White and how the power of colour and shape can entice and stimulate the mind. I enjoy the depth of emotion and feeling Black and White photography can give to a person or situation. I try to reach inner meaning with every photograph. Each photograph I capture is more than a picture, it has a purpose, a feeling. I work with my heart and believe that shows in the work I am starting to produce!
